Testing Fortafire

After two hours #TBAPS #FortaFire passive flexible fire barrier has just reached around 100 Celsius on the cold face despite the furnace temp reaching 1000C. The fire is obviously held back, proving integrity but the thermocouple readings and Infra Red photo prove the insulation properties.

The IR photo shows the cold face is just beginning to warm up 50mm away from an extremely hot furnace, 1000 C of heat contained in a chamber is being restricted to 100C or less over 50mm, this is outstanding insulation performance backed up by rigorous QC test such as this.
