ECP 121 1015 Sheet

£10.00

Description

Supplied as 50m rolls 1.2m wide 0.5mm thick, ideal for EMI Shielding gasket applications when die cut, highly conductive underlay for conductive floor tiles, see ECP 1536 floor tiles or architectural shielding applications used laminated to ECP NW70CN.

ECP 121/1015 is a permanently electrically conductive thermoplastic based on EVA and LDPE. And is specially formulated to give very high conductivity with a high degree of flexibility.

The compound is suitable for injection moulding, profile extrusion and sheet extrusion applications, which require good flexibility and high impact properties.

The compound meets the specifications laid down for handling static sensitive devices in BS IEC 61340-5-1:2007 and ATEX regulations.

Low level shielding of Electromagnetic Interference is also attained.

APPLICATIONS

Mouldings from ECP 121/1015 exhibit flexibility, high conductivity and high impact properties.

Typical applications include:-

–    Conductive sheets and pads

–    Conductive tubing

–    Conveyor rollers for hazardous environments

–    Flexible grounding straps and clips

–    Moulded on connector backshells providing low

Level EMI/RFI shielding

RECOMMENDED PROCESSING CONDITIONS

Processing conditions are naturally dependent on the equipment used.  However, general experience has shown that the ECP 121/1015 processes broadly similar to unfilled EVA.

For injection moulding barrel temperatures between 160-200°C.  have proved satisfactory.

During profile extrusion it has been found suitable to have the barrel temperature at 160°C.  Rapid cooling of  the extruded article retains good dimensional stability.

USE OF REGRIND

Runners sprues and scrap mouldings can  be reground and blended with virgin materials.  Regrind additions should not exceed 5% by weight of the virgin material otherwise some reduction in properties may be experienced.

ECP 121/1015 is intensively compounded during manufacture and hence exhibits homogeneous electrical properties.  No guarantee of electrical consistency can be given if the compound is diluted during processing.

HEALTH & SAFETY

CAUTION – THIS MATERIAL IS ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE

As this material does not have the insulating properties normally associated with polymers, due safety precautions must be taken in use and it is recommended that all products made from this material are suitably labelled.
