Description
ECP 290 is a magnetic compound based on special blends of magnetic additive compounded into a polyether based Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) in such a way as to optimise physical and magnetic properties during processing. The resulting compound has very good physical properties, hydrolysis resistance, low temperature performance and abrasion resistance. Normally supplied blue.
APPLICATIONS
ECP 290 is recommended for use in applications that require the usual advantages normally associated with TPU where magnetic detection requirements also exist, e.g..

- Sheeting

RECOMMEDED PROCESSING CONDITIONS
- ECP 290 can be processed on any conventional extruder
- Prior to processing drying for 2-4 hours at 100-105 ̊ C is recommended
- Starting extrusion temperature profile: (recommended)
Zone 1 170-175 ̊ C
Zone 2 175-180 ̊ C
Zone 3 180-185 ̊ C
Zone 4 185-190 ̊ C
Zone 5 185-190 ̊ C
Die Zone 185-190 ̊ C
If the application involves extrusion coating then pre heating of the substrate to 75-95 ̊ C is recommended for improved bonding.
USE OF REGRIND
Regrind additions should not exceed 10% by weight of the virgin material; otherwise some reduction in properties may be experienced.
DO NOT USE A MAGNETIC SEPARATOR IN THE MOULDING MACHINE AND HOPPER, THE GRAINS WILL SEPARATE AND STICK TO THE MAGNET!!
